First quad-band Wi-Fi 8 gaming router begins shipping from ASUS ROG
TechPowerUp, Oct 5, 2026
ASUS Republic of Gamers announced that its ROG Rapture GT-BN98, a quad-band Wi-Fi 8 gaming router, is now shipping. The company claims up to 25,000 Mbps and cites new MCS rates, UEQM and NPCA. It frames Wi-Fi 8 around reliability and steadier performance across signal conditions, not peak speed.
On the plant floor. This is a home product, so it changes nothing on a factory network today. It does show Wi-Fi 8 silicon reaching the market, and industrial access points and client devices will follow on their own schedule.
