- 6 GHz standard power and AFCAFC systems have managed US standard power since February 23, 2024, and the FCC's January 2026 proposal to let them credit composite indoor access points with building entry loss closed its reply round on April 21, 2026 with no order as of October 5, 2026.
- FCC ultra-wideband rulemaking (ET Docket 26-245)The FCC released its UWB notice of proposed rulemaking on October 1, 2026, and as of October 5, 2026 it has not appeared in the Federal Register, whose publication starts the 30-day comment and 60-day reply clocks.
- Wi-Fi 8 (IEEE 802.11bn)The Draft 2.0 letter ballot closed on September 2, 2026 with 77 percent approval, the task group resolved about 1,850 of its comments in September to produce Draft 2.1, and IEEE projects the Draft 3.0 ballot for January 2027.
